Customers that need to items from location to location within a particular order may find the staging order button on the Sales Order Object useful. The "Stage" and "Re-stage" buttons allow users to choose lines items that are picked, but not ready for shipping, but need to record the movement of the items. Once the order is ready for shipping, they can reference the staging order related to list to locate the items and ease the shipping process.

Please add the following buttons/related lists to the Sales Order object by editing the layout.
- Staging Order Lines
Now that you have the buttons and related lists you need, you can start staging orders.
These steps start after a user has already adding Sales order lines to the Order in question.
Once you a have the lines you want added to the Sales order it’s time to utilize the new “Stage” buttons. First step is to press the “Stage” button and the following visualforce page will show.
When you click the “Stage” button it will ask you what location you would like to stage it to. You are able to put notes on each line and they will show up with the related list under "Staging Order lines". Customers also have the ability to “Re-stage” lines as well. The process is the same
You can pack these lines at any stage in the process. The only process users cannot do with “Stage” and “Re-stage” button is unstage any of these lines. You can track all the locations that your items have gone through the staging process through the related list
